Well it's been a while since my first official blog post, but I'm back. I'm trying this again. It's hard to be disciplined enough to write every day. I don't even like writing. LOL
Anyway, on this not so wonderful journey with food sensitivities/allergies/intolerances I have chosen to look at is as a blessing in disquise. We are healthier for it. Hence the "Gone Primal" title. We are trying to be Paleo as much as possible. It's hard, but I have to say it is worth the effort. I feel like a whole new person. More energy, eating less because I stay full longer, less sugar cravings, my skin and hair look awesome, but most importantly I am losing weight without any exercise!!! Awesome, I know.
The more I read and learn about the Paleo lifestyle, the more I am enjoying it. My kids on the other hand, not so much. Don't get me wrong the have always been great eaters. My oldest will choose mixed berries over a piece of cake any day. She also loves raw veggies, even spinach. My youngest' favorite food is avocadoes and green beans, so we were off to a good start.
My hope for our new journey into the Paleo lifestyle, is that we for one get healthy and more active, but also that my children will learn something from it. I want to have our own garden. I want them to learn the importance of growing your own foods and cooking from scratch. Knowing where your food comes from and what's in it. Cooking and gardening is kind of a lost art in my generation. Luckily, the woman in my family are AWESOME cooks and have taught me along the way. I hope you will join us in our journey. Take the leap yourselves and get healthy and active. Start a family garden. Teach your kids some cooking skills. Go for a daily walk, throw a ball in the yard, or just do something together outside.
GOD Bless!!!

My First Blog!!!
Woohoo... I never in a million years would of thought I would be brave enough to start my own blog, but here I am writing my first ever blog post! Go ME!
Anyway, I wanted to start a blog to help other moms just like me, who have children with food allergies. I will be posting recipes, info, my own opinions and much more.
A little about my family... We are an Air Force family! I've been married to my best friend for 6 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
This journey into food and cooking came mostly after we had our second daughter. We had a long stressful road trying to figure out what was wrong and why she wasn't gaining weight or going #2 on her own. We saw our pediatrician several times, she had a barium enema to rule out Hirschsprung's disease. After that test came back normal they sent us to a gastrointestinal specialist. We brought up the idea of food allergies. She was breastfed, so he told me that is wasn't possible for her to be sick from anything in my breast milk. He said our bodies did not work that way. WRONG!!!!!! LOL I said sir I think you are wrong. He told me to prove him wrong and by golly that's what we did. We now have a happy healthy thriving beautiful 20 month old. It took 3 days of going dairy free before we had the privilege of changing her very first on her own poo. After that she got better and better, but still had a few issues, so we eliminated soy from my diet. What do ya know she was completely better. I say she is our blessing in disguise because we eat so much healthier now that we have her. We have adopted the whole food lifestyle and love it.
Now that I have rambled off my life story let's get this blog going! I plan to write a post a week or maybe every couple of days. I'm new to this, so we will see how it goes. I'm open to suggestions and criticism and any help I can get to run a successful blog. I want to help other moms and be an outlet for you to vent frustrations and ask for my help with recipes or breastfeeding or any other parenting help. I'm not an expert, but I will help with my opinions and experience as a mother.
As my readers what sort of things would you like to see on this blog?
